Holy Moley by Red Gaming: the £25 machine with the stained-glass look

Holy Moley has a rather different look from the burrowing-animal game its name might suggest. Red Gaming uses arches, a robed cartoon figure and a stained-glass-style wheel to frame the action. The £25 jackpot sits at the point of a triangular display at the top.

The cash ladder runs down the left side of the glass, while a nudge ladder occupies the right. Between them is a large circular feature display, with a Hi Lo number window lower down. A short numbered trail runs across the bottom of the main board.

That arrangement gives the machine several clear landmarks. The triangle is at the top, the circular display is in the centre, and the two ladders frame everything. Even with all the lights and labels, you can pick out the main areas quickly.

The lower glass has another striking feature: a segmented wheel to the right of the three reels, ringed by Spin markings. On the opposite side is a Nudge Multiplier panel. The same gold-edged, arched decoration surrounds the reel windows.

The photographed machine is a £25 example. Its artwork does much more to explain its identity than a generic list of reel hardware ever could: it is the combination of the triangular display, central circle and smaller wheel that makes Holy Moley recognisable.

There is a lot to take in on this cabinet, but the visual theme holds it together. The arches and rich colours give it a playful, theatrical feel, with the cartoon figure making clear that the title is meant as a joke.
