Money Talks by JPM: a feature trail framed in cash

Money Talks is direct about its theme. JPM surrounds the title with cash amounts and feature positions, then puts a large Hi Lo number display in the middle. Purple artwork and oversized orange lettering give the machine a bold, uncluttered identity behind a fairly busy game board.

The rectangular trail includes Nudge Pot, Cash Pot, Skill Cash and Win Series positions. Cash values are mixed in between them, with Start at the lower-right corner. Unlike a winding adventure layout, the route forms a clear frame around the centre of the glass.

A Cash Pot display sits on the left, while a vertical strip of numbers runs down the right. The central Hi Lo window is large enough to be a focal point in its own right. These separate areas give the feature game more structure than the title alone might suggest.

The instruction above the reels says that three pound signs on the win line award Feature 3. That is a useful machine-specific detail: the reel symbols are not only a way of matching the combinations on the payout table, but also part of entering the feature game.

The cabinet in the photograph has three reels and an £8 top payout on the paytable. Its Hold buttons also carry Hi and Lo labels, connecting the familiar lower controls with the number game above.

Money Talks does not need a film licence or an elaborate character to stand out. The cash-themed trail, prominent number display and straightforward feature names do the job. It is a good example of a machine whose layout supplies its personality.
