Lucky Strike by Barcrest: a prospecting-themed fruit machine
Updated: Sep 20
Lucky Strike leans into the old prospecting idea: gold nuggets, diamonds, a cartoon miner and a Wanted poster all crowd the glass. Barcrest gives the machine a rough-edged, Wild West look, with chunky lettering and wooden-sign-style panels.
The upper board has a square outer trail surrounding four tall columns. Nuggets, cash values, diamonds and red positions form separate tracks towards the Jackpot heading. That collection of vertical displays is the detail that sets Lucky Strike apart from a straightforward cash-ladder machine.

A number window sits beside the prospector on the left. Around the outside are more nuggets, cash amounts and named positions, so the theme is carried through the game layout rather than confined to one character picture.
The three reels below use fruit, bars and sevens. A numbered trail runs above them, and a nudge ladder appears down the right. The Wanted poster beside the reels is marked with a £10 reward.
There is an important inconsistency in this particular photograph: the lower poster says £10, while an upper strip still reads Eight Pounds. That is not enough evidence to state the machine's active payout configuration. The old title treated £10 as settled; this article records what the cabinet actually shows.
Whatever its final configuration, Lucky Strike has a very clear identity. The prospector, treasure columns and hand-drawn signs make it feel like a small gold-rush story played out across the glass.
