A £20 casino bonus does not necessarily mean £20 you can withdraw. The important question is what has to happen before any bonus winnings become available.
Wagering is the amount of qualifying play required. For example, ten-times wagering on a £20 bonus means £200 in qualifying stakes. That is turnover, not a promise that you can complete the requirement without losing your balance.
The Gambling Commission capped bonus wagering requirements at ten times from 19 January 2026. Old comparisons showing 35, 40 or 50 times should not be presented as current offers for the regulated British market.
Then check what counts towards the requirement. A promotion can restrict games, set an expiry date or limit the permitted stake. Read those conditions together rather than choosing an offer from the multiplier alone.
Free spins and cashback also need their own explanation. A spin has a specified stake value, and a cashback percentage depends on how the operator defines qualifying losses and the relevant period. Neither label tells you everything about withdrawal conditions.
An offer is optional. If completing it would mean spending more money or time than you intended, the headline bonus is not a reason to continue.
