How to Plan a UK Seaside Arcade Trip
Updated: Sep 20
Start with what you want from the day. Are you looking for a particular fruit machine, taking children to the penny pushers, or hoping to wander between a few arcades? That choice makes the rest of the planning much easier.
Pick two or three main stops and check their opening information. If one machine is the reason for a long journey, ask the venue whether it is still there and working. An old photograph is useful for identifying a cabinet, but it cannot promise you a game today.
Look at the route between venues before choosing where to park. A short walk on the map can feel longer with a tired child, limited mobility or a bag of prizes. Check step-free access and facilities directly when they matter to your group.
Keep travel, food and arcade spending separate. Decide what you are happy to spend on entertainment before you start playing, so lunch and the journey home are already covered.
Leave a gap for the beach, a café or anything that catches your eye. You do not need to visit every arcade to have a good day.
Save the addresses and check for last-minute changes before leaving. A little preparation helps; a timetable for every minute usually does not.
